Specific R&D for body formulae

Although the skin is considered as a single functional morphologic entity, in fact it is a heterogeneous organ, that varies with the body regions.

The skin on the face and neck, in constant contact with external factors, is directly exposed to sun, climatic changes, pollution,…. which means it is open to skin photoageing. However, the skin in the rest of the body, though not suffering from environmental aggressions, is deeply affected by the use of soaps, weight changes and excessive sitting. The body skin also contains seven times fewer sebaceous glands than the face skin, which makes moisturising essential.

This is why, when in our R&D department we develop a body product, the formula considerations are completely different from those of a face product, for the skin needs in this area are different. For the body, we select ingredients that provide emollience, that lubricate and moisturise the body surface since skin dryness in this area is quite common.

We complement the formula with specific active ingredients in line with the purpose of the product, including caffeine complex with Mate Tea, Coffee and Black Tea, Seaweed, Guarana and Horse Chestnut extract, amongst others, in the case of the anti-cellulite line. Finally, to mention that, in the case of the body formulae, it is very important to develop ultrafine textures that do not provide oily elements and are fast-absorbed.
